The Maine Heritage Policy Center is proud to present the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour, an important presentation on the nation's long-term fiscal condition.
Mr. David Walker is the featured speaker. Mr. Walker is the President and CEO of The Peter G. Peterson Foundation and former Comptroller General for the United States of America.
The Fiscal Wake-Up Tour is a joint initiative of The Concord Coalition, the Brookings Institution and The Heritage Foundation. Since 2005, the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour has visited more than 40 cities across America, explaining in plain terms why budget analysts of diverse perspectives are increasingly alarmed by the nation's daunting long-term fiscal outlook.
This review has gotten worse during the last several months, with out-of-control, irresponsible increases in spending, with any marginal short-term gains negated by more long-term government debt.
