David P. Crocker

In addition to serving on the Board of Advisors for The Maine Heritage Policy Center, David P. Crocker is the Director of MHPC’s Center for Regulatory Reform and Constitutional Government.

Mr. Crocker has practiced law for over twenty years, both as a US Attorney and British Solicitor. Over the course of his education and legal practice, David has seen a good deal of the world, conducting business in all manner of places – including the United Kingdom (UK), European Union, Russia, Japan, and South Korea.

Mr. Crocker’s commitment to free markets and limited government has its genesis in late 1970s Britain, where as a graduate student he lived through that country’s economic stagnation and labor upheavals. Formally educated in theology and law, David’s intellectual and scholarly interests are wide-ranging, but chiefly center around history – classical, US, military, political – and especially the history of ideas. His personal blog Behind Blue Lines provides an outlet for his intellectual restlessness and has been quoted and linked to by the likes of the American Thinker, Jonah Goldberg, and the Navy Times.

Mr. Crocker is a graduate of Gordon College, Durham University (UK), and the University of Maine School of Law, where he earned his JD magna cum laude and was production editor of the Maine Law Review. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Maine and New Hampshire, the First US Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
